Dear Sibling,
I'm so excited to see you soon and you're probably rolling your eyes because you like to pretend that we're not really friends, but we both know that we're each other's person, each other's friend. It's simple really. You're the only person who understands what it's like to be me without actually being me. You're the person who understands why I do things and how I view the world and how our childhood made me who I am today. Of course I have great friends who I can tell anything to, but there's something to be said for having someone who was there with you every step of the way.
When we were younger we definitely did not always get along. I don't think it was anything either of us did, I think we just didn't understand what it meant to actually be stuck with each other for the rest of our lives. I read a quote once that said that "Sisters are each other's biggest supporters and greatest rivals." Maybe that's true, there are moments where it definitely seemed true, but we got over it because eventually we learned that we work better as a team. We do. As much as you like to think you're SO independent and SO mature, you know you need me. I know you hate to hear that, but if it makes you feel better I need you too. This isn't meant to be cheesy, but really. Who else is going to ask employees for directions for me? Or make mistakes first so you don't have to? I like to think we're a symbiotic relationship in the best way possible.
As much as you make me question my faith in humanity because of the things that come out of your mouth, there is literally no other person who can make me the best, happiest person I can be. You inspire me to not care what others think. To relax and let go once in a while. To put myself first. And I hope I inspire you too. So to the person who makes me laugh for 45 minutes straight on the phone. Who makes me want to stab myself in the eye with a rusty fork. The person who will beat up anyone who hurts our little brother and make fun of him later (because it builds character of course.) The Pippa to my Kate, Lee to my Jackie, Kylie to my Kendall, Tom to my Jean and Donnie to my Jordan. Thanks for being there for me, for not taking me too seriously and for always being there to remind me what's really important. Thanks for being my person.
Sincerely,
The Most Fantastic Sister You Could Ever Ask For
P.S. Please don't make fun of me too hard for this when you see me.
