My Dearest Sister,
I hope you never doubt your importance in my life, despite our tough times and multiple fights over bathroom usage time and shotgun riding capabilities. I may call you annoying or mean, and whine about the little things you do, but in reality, I do it because I care about you and who you become. I always want to make you the best you can be, even if you claim to be on your best behavior. I might ask you to do things, though I'm “not your mother," but I mean well.
We have come a long way since our younger days. We can go places in public now without me trying to hold your hand every five seconds, and we can go on vacations together without me insisting we wear matching outfits. Now that I have gotten over the “over-protective" stage, things run much more smoothly. We have learned that with the help of each other, we can both survive our awkward stages and tackle any bowl-cuts and Aeropostle shirts along the way.
Most people claim that we look insanely alike and often mistake us as twins. It went from being awesome, to annoying, to unbelievable, to being a sense of pride. If I had to share genes with anyone, I sure am glad it's you. I now am proud of it, and see it as a visible bond between us. It is a permanent and undeniable mark that we will forever be the only twins to be born seventeen months apart.
Just know that I will always be here for a shoulder to cry on, a hand to hold (your hair), and an ear to listen whenever you are willing to tell me things. I'm forever going to be rooting for you, even when you think I am always on Mom's side. I just know your potential, and the beautiful person you have become. I have total faith that you can stand on your own, and handle anyone or anything that gives you trouble. But never forget that I'm a great asset to the team and will be waiting on the bench for whenever you need to put me in the game.
Between our amazing photo taking skills, our mutual love for chocolate, and our car dancing sessions, it's evident that I cannot live without you, little sis. I am taking the time to write you this letter to tell you all the things you need to know without telling me I'm “weird" or “mushy" or I'm “embarrassing" you. You deserve to know how incredible you are and how happy I am to be your older, shorter, and slightly cooler sister.
