A letter to Men and Women

Hello beautiful!

Yes, I said beautiful, even if you don't feel that way. I know you don't feel like anyone notices you, but I do. You are trying your best to be perfect; you think if you can act like you have it all together, that boy is going to ask you to lunch or flirt with you but I can promise you that if he only notices you for your looks, he isn't the man for you.

There is a huge difference between a boy and a man. Let me explain.

A boy will invite you to his dorm and have a second motive, a man will invite you over and tell you his plans and ask you if you are okay with them.

A boy will tell you that you look beautiful only on the days you put a mountain of make-up on, a man will tell you that you an angel when you are in sweatpants and not an ounce of make-up on.

With this, I also much say that you can't change for a man or a boy.

If he says you need to lose/ gain weight, he isn't worth it.

If he says you need to change you friends or push your family away, he isn't worth it.

Guys are a weird group of people but honey, you are worth more than that.

Now I speak with the men.

A lady that only hangs out with you because you are handsome on the outside, isn't a lady at all, only a girl. You deserve a lady. A women who stays with you because you make her happy, you make her feel special, and a women who supports you even when you are unsure of yourself. A girl will drop you if you leave the football team or loose the athletics body but a real women will stay for your mind, heart and soul.

When it comes to dating, I am nowhere near an expert, but I know what it feels like to hurt because the signs were there and no one told me.

To the women, find a man, not a boy.

To the Men, find a lady, not a girl.

Respect yourself.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
