A Love Letter To Coffee

Warning: Overly Dramatized

Dear Coffee,

Since I was in middle school, we have had a bond no one could break. You have become an important part of my daily routine and something I can not live without. Without you, I would be lost.

In high school, I couldn't make it to class without you. Early mornings were unbearable without your natural pick-me-up. I knew that the first few classes of the day would be a little easier when I had you to get me through them. And before long afternoons full of sports and activities, I would go to you for an afternoon boost.

In college, you have played a different role. Yes, you are still a morning staple but you have also become an afternoon motivator. When I have a long paper due, you help me finish it. When I have procrastinated on homework or a project, you're the boost to get me through the long night ahead of me. Or when I have pulled an all-nighter because I was so behind on responsibilities, you become the only thing keeping me awake and (somewhat) alert.

When I'm on my way to work, I know you will help me to get through my shift. On days I'm working a double or working late, I depend on you to help get me through the long day. Slow works days mean I need you to keep me awake, whereas busy work days I count on you to keep my focused. I know I will be better at what I am doing when I have you.

Thank you for helping me get out of bed. If it were not for you, I probably would never make it to class or work on time. On days where my eyes do not want to stay open, you give me the boost I need to finish off the day. When class gets boring, you encourage me to stay alert and pay attention to the lecture.

You are always there for me and in all forms. Hot, iced, latte, cappuccino, expresso. You have endless flavors and combinations. It's like having something new every time, yet with the same effects no matter the combination or flavor.

You are my sidekick and my energizer. You have seen my good days and bad, but have stayed consistent through them all. I hope I never see the day I don't have you when I need you. Thank you for being my liquid courage and motivation. I love you, coffee.

Forever and always.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
