A Letter To My Lifelong Best Friends

My life would suck without you

To the friends since the womb,

The phrase "I wouldn't be me without you" has never spoke more true when it comes to you three. You guys know me better than I know myself, and I wouldn't trade our millions of memories for anything in the whole world.

Starting off when we were just little girls, I'll forever have songs in my head like "All Around the World" and "You Make Me Feel Like a Star" from the Lizzie McGuire movie that bring back just the feeling of pure happiness.

Our fashion shows where we modeled our pajamas for our parents while singing and dancing to those songs are the epitome of the childhood memory I would want. Then as we got older, we would scream "Wannabe" by the Spice Girls at the top of our lungs, and once the so-called "rap" came around, we would all just mumble and laugh. It's so heartwarming to have songs come on and think of the three girls that will forever stick by my side.

Living across the street from each other, every single day as a kid was not complete without seeing each other. The relationship and bond we formed as young girls is perhaps stronger than any relationship I'll ever have in my life. It's such a blessing to have grown up with such amazing friends who I consider my family.

It's so important to have friends that I consider to be on the family level. Like a family, we've gone through some pretty troubling times. Whether it was feeling excluded as little girls or some deep stuff we went through recently, I have no doubt that we will never not be by each other's sides, through thick and thin. I've never felt such an endless amount of support from your family. The friendship the Dortenzio's and Tommins' share is perhaps the most essential thing in my life that I would never trade for the world.

You guys have taught me so much in life. Our creativity was endless as kids. Whether we were pretending to be Kim Possible, or making our strange, weird version of the most famous scene in the Godfather, or pretending we were some great band that toured singing Christmas carols or pretending we were Guitar Hero experts, it felt like we could do anything we want in life based on our imagination. I'll always hold that mentality of possibility close to my heart.

The ski trips, the endless movies we've watched, the Steazes (or gatorade for Grace), the family dinners, the beach trips, the bocci (and blokus for Mary) although all seeming like little things, make up my whole life. You guys are my life. You're my family, you're my rocks, you're my everything. We're all getting older now and growing into young, mature adults (even though our parents may not agree) and we might not see each other as much, but our dream of being best friends for the rest of our lives is no longer a dream to be, but reality. I'm in this for life.

I really just want you guys to know how much I appreciate you. My life would truly, really, INSANELY suck without you.

All my love.

Mia

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
