A Letter To Anyone Who Wants To Study Abroad

Studying Abroad can be scary for anyone. If it's for a week, month, semester, or even a year, its scary to go to a new country and have to change your daily lifestyle to be accustomed to the new lifestyle. With all the nerves and crazy thoughts it is scary but trust me it is one of the best things you can do for yourself and here's why.

You meet a ton of new friends.

At first it can be scary not knowing anyone, and having to do this all by yourself, but once you get to know everyone in your group you soon to realize that they are some of the best people that you have meet in your life. You get to spend time with other people enjoying a beautiful place. You get to know so much about them and all you can think is how did you not know any of these people before this trip.

You learn so much about the country you are in.

Your teachers and tour guides are their for a reason, so use them. They can tell you so much about it and you can learn so many wonderful, interesting things about the Country. It truly is an amazing information and you are able to see the difference from how you live on a daily basis and how they live.

The food is amazing.

The food that your host family makes is noting like you eat while you are at home. The family always has the freshest food you will eat, they know how to cook it just right. It's just amazing trust me.

The memories you make there will last forever.

You can spend your time at home doing the same thing everyday and just live day by day, but when Studying Abroad you are able to do so many different things during the day like shopping, hiking, walking tours what ever it is during that time you will remember everything that happened during the trip.

You never know when this opportunity can happen again.

For some people it is a once in a life time chance and for other they are luck if they can do it more than once. i promise you that if you get the opportunity to do something this amazing take the chance, it is something that can change your life and change the way you view things.

Studying Abroad is something that I'm so grateful to have been able to do, it truly changed my life for the good.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
