With Thanksgiving coming up, this is the time of the year when we are feeling grateful and thankful for everything in our life. But what about all the other days? Isn't important to be grateful and thankful all year round, and not just one day?
Now, don't get me wrong, Thanksgiving is an amazing holiday. I absolutely love Thanksgiving. But there are so many reasons for us to be grateful every single minute of the day. We live in one of the freest countries into the entire world, but we also forget that a lot. I know that I am guilty of this on a daily basis.
We live in a country where we have so many rights that we take for granted. We are allowed to have differing opinions than our government, we have the right to speak what we believe, we have the right to a free education no matter your ethnicity or gender. That is only to name a few. But there are also just little things in our daily life that we should be grateful for.
One of my goals that I set for myself for this year, is to be more grateful and thankful on a daily basis. I have learned to be grateful every day for the little things: waking up in the morning, my car engine turning on, not being called on in my law classes, and that I am lucky enough to have a great job that allows me to have some money in my bank account. It is honestly the little things that truly give us gratitude.
So as we are going into the holiday season, let's be grateful and thankful for everything in our lives, even the little things. And I also want to challenge you to keep that up even past this holiday season.
