Let People Make New Year's Resolutions, It Isn't So Bad

Every year without fail, the general population takes to social media to brag about their upcoming New Year's Resolutions. They make changes to their daily routines, way of life, and try to form better habits. The issue everyone runs into is that no one ever fully commits. The Internet trolls and Scrooges alike collectively ready themselves to combat the masses of New Year's Resolutions, but why? It's because they think being rude is cute, but it's not. These resolutions can be the beginning of something great for certain people, and they might just need some encouragement. So bring on your resolutions, I'll listen to them.

Discouraging other people... It's not cute.

Trust me on this one. No one thinks that you're cute because you're discouraging other people. The matter of the fact is, you probably don't have the self-discipline to make your own resolution or to follow it.

New Year's Resolutions can lead to beautiful things.

Giphy

There' so many possible ways people can change their lives with a New Year's Resolution, even if they don't stick with it forever. Resolutions could mean a new job, new hobby, better health, etc. When you make a resolution, it creates a ripple in the pool of your life, and that ripple could become a wave. If the ripple is a dud, and they don't gain anything from it, it's still not your job to chastise them. It's your job to support them or to keep quiet.

What happened in the beginning, and how the heavens were set in motion.

The Norse Creation Myth

Now, I have the everlasting joy of explaining the Norse creation myth. To be honest, it can be a bit kooky, so talking about it is always fun. The entire cosmos is included in this creation myth, not just the earth but the sun and the moon as well. This will be a short retelling, a summary of the creation myth, somewhat like I did with Hermod's ride to Hel.

We all scroll through the radio stations in the car every once in a while, whether its because we lost signal to our favorite one or we are just bored with the same ol' songs every day. Which is none other than beer; wonderful cold beer. With summer playing peek-a-boo around the corner while we finish up this semester, it's time to discuss the only important part of summer.
