One of the biggest comebacks of 2015 was Justin Bieber. His newest album, Purpose, sold 522,000 copies in its first week alone, beating out Drake's If You're Reading This It's Too Late and having the biggest debut since Taylor Swift's 1989. After having a rough 2014, including multiple run-ins with the law, personally, I'm glad to see that Justin is doing well, succeeding, and seems to have his head on straight. Whether you like him or not, I think everyone can learn a thing or two from the 21-year-old superstar.
1. Surround yourself with the right people.
It just goes to show, you really are who you hang out with. It's easy to get lost and think certain people have your best interests at heart when they really just want to see you fail. Evaluate who's in your life and make sure they're raising you up, not dragging you down.
2. It's never too late to say sorry.
The pun was right there, I just couldn't help myself. But in all seriousness, if you make a mistake, own up to it. People will respect you more if you admit that you've done wrong.
3. Keep your family close.
They're the only people who will stick by your side no matter what. No matter how big you mess up, no matter what you say or do or didn't do, they'll always have your back. Spend as much time with them as possible and let them know how much they mean to you.
4. Make your faith a priority.
Bieber has been very open about his religion as of late. In fact, most of his interview for the October/November 2015 issue of Complex was geared towards his faith and was even quoted in saying,
"At this point, my faith has gotten me to where I am."
When you focus on something and Someone bigger than you, it's amazing how things will begin to fall into place.
5. Work hard.
To be honest, I'm not sure if anyone ever expected Bieber to make a comeback of this magnitude. I'm sure most people, like me, felt his prime was years ago and geared towards the world's population of teenage girls. But he proved us all wrong. People will doubt you and criticize you. Use that as motivation to succeed.
It just goes to show that when you believe and never say never, you may just find your purpose. (More puns, sorry)
