1. The Realization that it's finals week.
Finals mean that you're in the homestretch of college and you have tons of studying to do. Realizing it all is worse than taking the finals themselves, but when you're done with all of the madness it feels so much better.
2. When you're doing your last load of laundry for the year.
One of the most annoying things in college is doing laundry, and when it's finals, it's even worse. But you also remember that it is your last load of laundry that you'll have to do before you go home and you're guaranteed a washer/ dryer at home.
3. Taking decorations down in your dorm.
When you're moving in it's always fun to hang up decorations and plan out what your room will look like. But moving out is extremely challenging because you're taking down memories made in college and emptying your room out for the year.
4. When your roommate leaves and you have to spend the last night alone.
Having a roommate can be a blessing or a curse and luckily, for many students, their roommate is one of their best friends. When you don't have your roommate with you at night it certainly feels a bit empty in the room.
5. Trying to eat all of the fun food before going back to home-made meals.
Of course we all love the luxury of homemade meals that our parents make for us, but it's also great to have the fun food at college. Having 2-3 months without college food makes you just want to have a little more before you leave.
6. When you finish all of your finals.
One of the best moments in your college career is when you finish all of your finals and feel on top of the world. After finals are over, you know that your summer is starting and there are no worries...except for some online classes.
7. Seeing a tour of incoming freshman.
Watching incoming students view a place you've called home is a bitter sweet feeling. It brings back memories of when you came and visited as an incoming freshman and how excited you were to start.
8. When everything hits you all at once before leaving.
Sometimes we are all so wrapped up in our studies and enjoying the last few weeks of school, that we forget about what is happening around us. Leaving college for the first year is very difficult because of the connections made throughout the duration of your experience.
9. Saying bye to all of the amazing friends you've made.
The biggest struggle is leaving the people that built you up when you needed it the most. The friends that you make in college are those that will last forever and saying bye for any period of time is extremely difficult, but it's exciting knowing that you'll see them again in just a few months.
10. Going home and seeing all of your friends.
The hardest thing you did when you left high school was saying bye to your friends. But with that said, the best thing is going back to see them over breaks during college. Seeing all of your friends from home is also a great distraction to prevent you from being too sad about missing your friends from college.
