I have always been that extremely extroverted in a group, but college has begun to slowly mellow me out. As I think about a day in my life, I quickly see that it is filled with constant noise, whether that is family, friends, music, TV, or podcasts. I think understanding what solitude and silence are is extremely important, especially as you are growing up; it is good to do that on your own. Appreciating silence is something that has taken me basically twenty-one years to understand, and I still am on the road to understanding it now. I began to research a little about the effects silence has on a person, and it has motivated me to want to challenge myself to spend more time in my day alone in solitude.
