What I Learned From Friends

Let's be honest... Friends might just be the best show to have hit TV in our time. Even better, miraculously end up on Netflix for us to binge watch over and over again. You really can't argue that you didn't take a little fashion sense from Rachel or humor from Chandler, or take Buzzfeed quizzes on 'Which Friends Character Are You?'. I took all three, and even a little more.

1. The real world is hard.

If the literal opening scene didn't teach you this, let me. Life is not easy. It's not fair or easy to predict, but that's okay! Because in the midst of a crazy hard life, you grow as a person. You learn more about yourself and the things that matter to you, and no matter how hard it may seem, you WILL get through.

2. Love yourself & be authentic.

You are an amazing and beautiful individual person. There is no other YOU out there. So love yourself, like everyone who can see the amazing you does.

3. It Doesn't Matter What People Think.

Why should you ever change just to make someone else happy ? And, if you're comparing yourself to others, stop. Any insecurities come straight from you. Life is too short to be worried about what people think, just be happy.

4. Take Chances.

How will you know if something is going to work if you don't even try? How will you know if it was the greatest thing that's ever happened to you, or the worst mistake you could make, if you never actually do it. So why not, because really the worst thing you can do is fail. And it will either give you everything you wanted, or will teach you what you don't.

5. You Don't ALWAYS Have To Win.

Yes, winning is fun. But, winning isn't everything. Sometimes it's okay to lose the argument or the game because it's not worth losing the big picture. Except when it comes to the Geller Cup...

6. Time Flies.

One day turns into two, and then a week, then a month, and before you know it the year is over and you're getting ready to start a new one. Make memories, ones that make the time that seems to get faster each time we get a new calendar worth it.

7. Fun Is Underrated.

We've got it all figured out, life is good and there's not a worry in the world... then we turn 4. Life get's complicated, and you have to deal with school/work/money/stress, and it feels like there's no time to laugh or just have good ol' fun. Make time for it, because a little bit of laughter goes a long way, and no one should live a life without it.

8. Not All Friends Are Meant To Last, But Those Who Do Are Treasures.

This one's self explanatory... *cue the tears*.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
