Whether all of your Christmas shopping was done in July or you got everything done on Black Friday, I'm sure there is that one person you forgot to get a gift for. I tell myself every year I will not step in Walmart the week before Christmas because I refuse to put myself through that craziness, but I always find myself forgetting something! It is the worst feeling when you find out you and an old friend are meeting up and they mention they can't wait to give you your gift. Awkward! Looks like you have to make that dreadful trip now. Here are a few things you can't go wrong with when last minute shopping.

1. A pair of PJs matched with that perfect pair of fuzzy socks.

I'd be lying if I said PJs aren't on the top of my own Christmas list and are always one of the first things I grab for relatives. The whole family gets matching PJs and it is one of the simplest and sentimental gifts anyone could ask for. A few great places to get cheap PJs are Old Navy, Kohls, Walmart, or TJ Maxx.

2. Mug Holiday Gift Sets.

You can find these anywhere! Walmart is always a good go-to for these but one of my favorite places for gift sets recently has been Burlington Coat Factory. I have found a gift for almost everyone there. They have a whole gift section and you aren't spending more than $20 for a nice gift set. Who doesn't love a Hershey's mug set or a hot chocolate gift set?

3. Dunkin Gift Card.

Dunkin gift cards have no limit as to how much money you can put on! If your bestie is more of a Starbucks lover, try that out instead! A cute Christmas card with a $15 coffee gift card, what's not to love?

4. Picture Frames.

I love sentimental frames with pictures in them! I have pictures covering my room and I love making an extra little touch with a fancy frame. You can even go to the dollar store and get these! Super cheap and super easy to print out a picture or a few to put in a frame and wrap it up with a nice card. This is perfect for family or friends.

5. Bath and Body Works items.

Bath and body works is a great gift for men and women. They have scents and items for the whole family. When I was in high school I loved getting hand sanitizers and the key chains for my backpack and purse. I'm sure dad wouldn't mind some body wash and some hand wash or bath products for mom.

6. Blankets.

You can NEVER have enough blankets around the house or your dorm. I have at least five blankets on my bed at home and at school and would never deny another fuzzy blanket lying around!

7. Canvas or any wall art.

I love getting sentimental canvases or desk toppers with cute quotes! I even found some for my grandfather a few years ago for Father's Day. If you are balling on a budget, head to Michael's and make your own canvas with a really sweet quote that will hit home!

Anything you buy for your family and friends will be amazing as long as it is from the heart. No need to put too much thought into a last minute gift. Walk around one store close to you and I'm sure you will hit the jackpot!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
