Have you ever heard of LANY?

A little over a year ago, I was driving around with my friend. She had her music library on shuffle and one song caught my ears. There was something about it that was very attractive.

The music, the voice, the beats. It was just a good song. After pulling out my phone and sound-hounding the song, I found out that the song was “ILYSB” by a band named LANY.

Have I ever heard of LANY? Nope.

Fast forward to a few months later. LANY escaped my radar (I am not sure why). I was on Spotify and another song by them popped up in the “Discover” section (“yea, babe, no way”). Recognizing the name, I decided to play it. I am so grateful that I did.

Many artists go unnoticed for how incredible they truly are. Not for any specific reason, it just happens that way. The world of music is a weird place. So here I am, to tell you about a hot band you should probably give a chance.

LANY is a band from Los Angeles, California consisting of three people: Paul Klein, Jake Goss, and Les Priest. They have three EP’s, “I Loved You” (2015), “Make Out” (2015), and “kinda” (2016), along with their first self-titled album, “LANY,” that was just released on June 30th, 2017.

LANY is very rhythmic. They provoke a very California vibe while filling you with nostalgia. Lead singer Paul Klein's melodious voice can calm you down, whilst filling you with a feeling of energy and excitement.

Songs such as “4ever!,” “ILYSB,” “Super Far,” and “Good Girls” demonstrate a more upbeat tempo of the band, whereas songs such as “current location,” “Walk Away,” and “Hericane” show their soulful side. LANY tends to go against the norm for the type of music that is filling the charts today.

They focus on rhythm, feelings, and spreading energy through the beats of their music. Their style varies, while still staying true to who they are as artists and their goals as a band. No matter what, they leave you feeling aesthetically pleased. Do yourself a favor and listen to LANY. I guarantee you will not regret it.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
