Lady Gaga gave confidence to girls all over the country during her half time Super Bowl performance on February 5th. Not only did Lady Gaga go out and give an amazing performance, but she did so by being herself. She didn’t care what people thought about her body because she has learned to love her body.
Let’s get one thing straight. In my opinion body shamers are people that don’t love their own body so they feed off of the demeaning of other people’s bodies. If they loved their own bodies they wouldn’t make someone else hate their own body. Also, to all of you body shamers out there, you didn’t gain anything by shaming her body. Sorry, I’m wrong, you gained humiliation because you got stood up to by a women being bullied.
After her performance, body shamers took to the internet to discuss her abs instead these people should have been talking about how much of an amazing performance she had. These body shamers are the reason girls are so ashamed of their own bodies.
Lady Gaga’s response to the body shamers was perfect. She took to social media where she knew thousands, even millions of people would see her response. On her Instagram she posted, “I heard my body is a topic of conversation so I wanted to say, I'm proud of my body and you should be proud of yours too. No matter who you are or what you do. I could give you a million reasons why you don't need to cater to anyone or anything to succeed. Be you, and be relentlessly you. That's the stuff of champions. thank you so much everyone for supporting me. I love you guys. Xoxo, gaga”
Props to you Lady Gaga for sticking up for yourself and sticking up for other women who have been body shamed.I applaud you and a lot of people love you a lot more now.
She showed all of us girls that we need to love and be proud of our bodies. By shutting down the body shamer’s she taught us that we are all beautiful in our own way. She showed everyone a real woman’s bod instead of something out of a photo shopped magazine. Lady Gaga told everyone to love our bodies, don’t care what others think of our bodies, and be relentlessly us, because that to her is how to be happy and love ourselves. That is what all women need to do. We all need to love ourselves no matter the shapes, sizes, or color. We are all perfect in our own ways and beautiful beyond compare. When you accept that, you will have learned to love yourself and no one will be able to put you down again.
So, thank you Lady Gaga for being you. Thank you for giving not just me but every other girl out their confidence to love our bodies and relentlessly be ourselves, not caring what anyone thinks about you.
As I end this remember, be you, be proud, be confident, love your body, and be a champion.
