Oh, Labor Day! We all love a day off and Labor Day is the perfect excuse to kick back and enjoy the place your living or explore a new one! Charleston, South Carolina is a great place to explore for a weekend or even just a day trip. There are endless restaurants to try and tours to take — whether you're from near or far Charleston, SC is the place to be this Labor Day weekend! Here are seven events, things to do, or places to explore in the low country while #chilling on this extended weekend.

1. Take a harbor cruise

With views of the Arthur Ravenel Bridge and memories with your friends and family that you can't beat!

2. Go on a ghost tour

Whether you're visiting the old city jail or you're roaming Charleston, SC on a walking tour — this is an experience you can't beat.

3. Spend the day at the beach

There are several beaches in the Charleston area that are to die for and all of them have a different vibe! Whether you end up at Folly Beach or Isle of Palms you're set the have a great time.

4. Try a new restaurant

After the meal take a nice stroll through downtown Charleston!

5. Go on a bike tour

Who doesn't love sustainable tourism? Much love to bike riding especially in CHS!!!

6. Stay at a bed and breakfast

Whether it's a trendy Airbnb or historic bed and breakfast, it's going to be a good time!

7. Go sightseeing!

Take the long way home or visit one of the many gardens in the Charleston area.

Charleston, South Carolina is one of the coolest places I've ever been — anytime spent in CHS is going to be a good one!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
