Everything You Need To Know About Vaser Liposuction

We are going to talk about:

  • Differences between liposuction and Vaser;
  • How Vaser liposuction works;
  • The procedure;
  • What to expect when undergoing Vaser liposuction;
  • Areas for treatment;
  • The possible side effects and risks.

First, let’s take a look at the differences between traditional liposuction and Vaser.

The difference between traditional liposuction and Vaser:

Traditional liposuction is a type of cosmetic procedure people have intending to remove fat deposits that are underneath the skin. Vaser liposuction is a specialist type of procedure that breaks the fatty cells along with loosening them from deeper tissues. This allows for a more effective removal of fat during liposuction.

Vaser stands for vibration amplification of sound energy at resonance. Thanks to innovative technology powerful waves cause disruption between the bond and fat cells using ultrasound technology. Vaser liposuction is said to be a gentler, and more controlled form of cosmetic surgery, however, it does require a highly skilled specialist such as those at Hansplace, to undertake it.

One important thing to bear in mind is that liposuction isn’t a weight-loss tool. To get the best out of Vaser liposuction you should ideally be within 15 pounds of the weight you would like to be.

How Vaser liposuction works:
Now let’s take a look at how Vaser liposuction works. Just as with traditional liposuction it works by breaking down fat deposits. Once broken down these fat deposits are removed while the patient is under anaesthetic. The doctor performing the surgery will use a saline solution and cannulas and suction the fat out from underneath the skin.

Commonly doctors will use lasers and water pressure to break apart the fat before suctioning it out of the body. Another possible way of fat removal is using pulsing ultrasound waves. The energy sources used help with the generation of heat that will break the fat cells apart so they are easier to remove and will tighten the skin minimally in the treated area.

Vaser is a particular type of liposuction allowing a gentle and precise way of removal of fat by disrupting any connection between the fat tissues and muscles without damaging any underlying healthy tissue.

The procedure:
During the procedure, you will not be in any pain or feel any discomfort. Nor will you have to undergo a general anaesthetic. The procedure is undertaken in the day clinic and generally takes between 1 and 3 hours. You do not have to stay overnight in the hospital, you can have the procedure and then be on your way after around 45 minutes.
Generally, the majority of cases are a one-off treatment; however, in some cases, follow-ups may be required.

What you should expect:
Some people are concerned about what they should expect after the procedure and what their bodies might look like.

Following Vaser liposuction, you can expect a little swelling and bruising in the areas that were targeted during the treatment. One important thing to bear in mind is that you will not see results immediately. This is because your body is going to take time to heal and this differs from person to person. Before you are released home the doctor will generally provide you with sterile cotton pads so that you can dress the area affected.

During the 24 to 48 hours following your treatment, you can expect there to be fluid weeping from the area. Your doctor might also advise you to drink more fluids. This will help to flush out any anaesthesia from your body.

For several weeks following the procedure, generally between 1 and 5 weeks, you will also be asked to wear a compression garment. This is designed to help keep any swelling to a minimum.

Between 4 to 6 months after treatment, you will start to see the benefits of your treatment. Your body will begin to settle down. When you will start to see results will differ from person to person.

Bear in mind that following the treatment the way your body looks is going to be down to you to some extent. You should maintain a diet and exercise plan to maintain the fat deposit loss and stop fat from building back up.

The areas for treatment:
Vaser liposuction can, and has been used to widely treat a range of areas and these include the following:

  • Chin and neck;
  • Chest region;
  • Upper back;
  • Arms;
  • Stomach and waist;
  • Thighs and hips;
  • Buttocks.

The side effects and risks:
While Vaser liposuction is considered to be a low-risk procedure there may be some side effects and risks. If you are worried about these you should talk with the doctor undertaking your surgery.

Some of the most common side effects include:

  • Slight bleeding and bruising;
  • An ache or pain at the site of treatment;
  • Scarring following healing;
  • Irregularities to the skin:
  • Asymmetry;
  • Hyperpigmentation;
  • Swelling in the area days or weeks following the treatment;
  • Loose skin.

There are some signs that you should be aware of during the first days following the procedure. Generally, the following may be signs that you have an infection.

  • A fever;
  • Any yellow or greenish discharge from the area;
  • Feeling dizzy;
  • Nausea or vomiting;
  • Feeling exhausted or fatigued.

If you are worried about any side effects or think you have an infection following the procedure contact your doctor.

In summary:
Vaser liposuction may be an ideal choice for treatment on any stubborn fatty areas, particularly on such as arms, neck, legs and torso. Recovery can be anything between 1 and 7 days and you should begin to see improvements between 4 to 6 months.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
