For King and Country Concert Experience

On Thursday, August 31st, I attended the For King and Country concert in Grand Island, NE. For King and Country is a Christian band, whose members are originally from Australia. Their band name was taken from the battle cry of the British Army and the band took it and made it their mission to travel around the world "for king and country".

For King and Country performed at the Nebraska State Fair and some of the songs they performed include: "Priceless", "Shoulders", "Cease Fire", "The Proof of Your Love", "God Forgive Us", and "Fix My Eyes".

One of my favorite moments of the show was when the band and entire crowd prayed for those affected by Hurricane Harvey in Houston, TX. Following the prayer, we all sang "Amazing Grace". I had chills the entire time; it was such a powerful moment! You could definitely feel God's presence there with you!

Another aspect I enjoyed was the band's lighting choices. They didn't go for the simple and easy, they went for the really intricate and unique. For example, during one of the slower songs they used white lights that started off as straight lines and then when they hit a wall formed little dots all over it. Lighting is very important as it helps create the atmosphere at a concert, and For King and Country did a fabulous job!

During the concert, the band promoted their new movie being released entitled, Priceless, after their very popular single. The film is about a young man who agrees to drive a semi-truck across country with no idea of what is in the back. Once he finds out what is back there, he makes it his mission to help the situation. I bought the DVD and it came with a free necklace! The necklace is an Australian one cent coin and the For King and Country logo. It symbolizes that, "a woman is worth more than all the money in the world! It also stands as a reminder to men that ladies are priceless and deserve to be treated with respect and honor!"

Overall, the concert was great! The atmosphere was so positive and loving, and the band sounded awesome live. I highly recommend that you give For King and Country a listen and go to one of their shows is you are able!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
