Kindness Is Always Key Because You Never Know Who You Make An Impression On

If you treat others the way you want to be treated, it'll only benefit you.

There's always going to be a list of people that you think about on a daily basis. It could be all of your best friends, your family, someone who you only recently met, your relatives who are far from you- it could be anyone. There are memories that flood through you when a specific song is playing or when you go to a special restaurant are always going to be the special ones that remind you of certain people. There's also going to be the people who you think about as you're trying to mold your first impression of them.

Now just as you have your own thoughts, everyone else has their thoughts too. How many times do you think people have thought of you? Or what they think of you? Is it good or bad? You never really know who's thinking about you or why they're thinking about you which is why it's always important to show the best version of yourself because you never know who or how you make an impression on someone.

It could be a one-second interaction but someone can make up their entire impression of you in that one second. That one second just determined if someone thought you seem nice, mean, or anything else. This is why it's important to always put your best foot forward and kindness is always the key to winning anyone over. Every version of you exists somewhere in someone's impression of you. In the second long interaction you have with someone it could've been a happy version of you, the crying you, the sleepy you, or whatever version it might have been. But no matter what version of you is planted in someone's mind, the one thing that will always never fail is kindness.

You can never go wrong with being kind. It's beneficial to you and to anyone else. It doesn't have to be a grand gesture. In the end, it's the small things that count the most and what someone might remember about you and think back about it later. It could be as simple as picking up something from the ground for someone. This impression you leave on that person is going to leave an everlasting impact on them and what they think of you. It'll always play a key role even after they get to truly know you.

Kindness is similar to a cold in the way that it's basically contagious. If you spread kindness by doing someone a nice deed, that person will, in the majority of the cases, do the same to you. Kindness is harmless and there's nothing wrong in doing a simple deed because you never know how it impacted someone. You don't lose anything when you're kind. If you treat others the way you want to be treated, it'll only benefit you. And who knows? Maybe the person will think of you and plant this as their impression of you since you never know what could be going on through someone's head or when someone is thinking of you.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
