I Kinda Suck At Being A Girl And That's OK

Because getting that manicure once a week isn't my forté

I wouldn't consider myself to be a tomboy, but I also don't consider myself to be a girly girl – I meet somewhere in the middle. Woman are supposed to be a lot of things and are expected to meet so many expectations. I, on the other hand, do not meet all of those expectations. I have also recently found out that I do not give a sh*t. Here are just a few of the many reasons why, and I'm sure other girls can relate.

1. My nails are never done

I mean occasionally I'll do the whole "treat yo'self" and make my nails not look like 12-year-old boy hands.

2. Washing hair is rare

I sometimes (always) use dry shampoo as an alternative to washing my hair, because it's just so much easier and faster.

3. Make-up. HOW?

How do girls turn into Vincent Van Gogh every morning to do their face? Props to you though, because 10 seconds into a YouTube tutorial and I usually give up.

4. "Being lady-like"

My friend and I burp the alphabet a lot in our free time. I know EW, right? I also need to learn how to sit properly while wearing a dress or skirt without flashing anyone.

5. Shaving legs

This, now THIS is hard to keep up with. I sometimes forget and actually mistake my legs for Chewbacca. In the summer I tend to do better at that part, though, since it's swimsuit season and all.

6. Dressing up, ugh.

I'm getting exhausted just thinking about it, because I'm usually wearing clothes that could pass for me being homeless. Only on special occasions do I decide to not wear that T-shirt for the third time in row.

7. Cooking is a no-go.

My idea of "cooking" usually involves me putting salt and pepper on my Ramen Noodles, or constructing my Lunchable.

8. Heels = breaking neck

I can only wear a good two-inches on heels, or else I look like a newborn deer trying to walk.

I do promise I'm still a girl even though I don't have Gordon Ramsay's cooking skills, wear a sundress all the time, or have a fresh manicure. One day I'll get the hang of it, but today I'll stick to my oversized T-shirt and lean cuisine meals.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
