Kaitlin Bennett, Disgraces Kent For The Second Time

I've had enough of you and your conservative crap.

We all remember Kaitlin Bennett the media proclaimed "Kent Gun Girl" who unapologetically walked around Kent's campus with an AR-10. In short: she made a fool of herself and brought negative national media attention to Kent State University's campus. But months later we are being disgraced once again with her unwanted presence on campus.

Her antics this time include a Pro-Gun Rally hosted by the Liberty Hangout, a conservative student organization on campus. What I think is funny is that Kaitlin isn't even a student on campus anymore so what the hell is she doing holding a rally sponsored by a student organization. If there was any way to take her diploma away from her, I'd be the first to celebrate.

Kaitlin is using this negative attention to build hype around a cause that many Kent State students, faculty, and alumni don't support. Kent State's own administration has come up with guidelines to further prevent this rally from happening due to its safety issues and its upright stupidity.

Kent State will allow her Pro-Gun rally to continue as long as she succumbs to these parameters:

1. The organization must cover all security costs incurred by the rally which amounts to about 14,000 dollars, a number that clearly demonstrates Kent's extreme disposition to hold the rally in the first place.

2. No one will be allowed to carry a weapon on campus due to the fact that it is a student-organized event.

3. The event will not be allowed to be held inside the Kiva, a large ceremony hall, because the hall needs to be reserved four weeks in advanced.

Despite these parameters, Kaitlin has openly said she will still be carrying a weapon on the day of her event.

In response, Kent has issued a cease and desist order. Kent can't stop Kaitlin for acting like a dumbass and they can't legally ask her not to preach about pro-gun laws but they can do everything in their power to keep her away. A cease and desist order is given to someone when they are under suspicion for practicing illegal activities.

Her rally will take place SEPTEMBER 29TH, 2018 in Risman Plaza, on Kent State's campus.

I will personally see to it that I am there protesting her ignorance. And I will be the first to tell her how people like her are screwing up society with her insecure, idiosyncratic gun opinions. According to Uber Facts, most gun owners have a history of violence or anger management problems. Let that sink in...

For some reason, I'll never understand why giving people guns solves the gun crisis?? Gun+Guns does not equal safety.

See you there Kaitlin and I'll greet you personally with a giant F*** you.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
