Remembering What's Important Post-Election
Donald Trump Twitter

In the wake of the political snowstorm of Donald Trump clinching the presidency, it hit me how grateful I am to be alive. No, I am not alive because Mr. Trump just won our election, but I feel alive because I am grateful and I have joy. Okay, cheesy, yes. But let's be serious for a second. We get to live in one of the greatest countries in the world, we get to have jobs that we want, we get to further our education, go grocery shopping for foods that we enjoy and spend time with our families. HOW AWESOME IS THAT?

It hit me as I was walking out of the library and the chilly air hit my nose for the first time this year just how thankful I am. I am reminded of the quote, “The things you take for granted now, someone else is praying for.” When was the last time you dropped to your knees to talk to God and thank him for loving you and blessing you? People are waking up today that with plans and things to do, but they don't get to. Let's just remember that.

This election has caused such a whirlwind of hatred on both sides of the political spectrum and I refuse to take part in the shaming. Regardless of the outcome, people would have been very upset and angry because they think that they know better than everyone else. OKAY, so go run for our next presidential election, please. What happened to, “Be the change that you want to see in the world.” What happened to, “love your neighbor as your own.” What happened to, “Let your smile change the world.” What happened to, “Kind people are my kinda people.”

America, we are seriously SO blessed to have modern technologies, to have job securities and advancements, health care, infrastructures, and road departments. The list could go on. America is still America even if Donald Trump just demolished our traditional expectations of an election. America has been and will be great REGARDLESS of any single individual.

Let's stop tearing one another down due to the race card, the LGBTQ card, the pity card or any other card that you want to throw in someone’s face so you can get what you want. How many times have we closed our mouths’ and listened and heard what someone said for the entirely of the conversation? Yeah, less than what we should. Thankfully I have Odyssey to let me always add my two sense.

Let's respect others’, respect our president, respect our country, and let’s remain ONE country UNDER GOD. Because if we don’t have Jesus who do we have?

Have a good day and God Bless.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
