Ok. Now that it's almost time for Game 2 of the NBA Finals, we can talk about what happened in Game 1. JR Smith probably blew the game for the Cavs. And even though that is no excuse for how they played during overtime, JR Smith could have won the game right there in the last few seconds of regulation. It is pretty clear that JR Smith thought the Cavs had the lead, because after that missed free throw (which could have won the game in the first place), he just took the ball and ran. So, basically, they blew the game three times. First with that free throw, JR Smith's terrible blunder, and then in overtime with their terrible play. In the NBA finals, in such a clutch moment, JR Smith lost track of the score. That is the kind of blunder that you just cannot afford. Here's Lebron's reaction.
I am absolutely positive that JR Smith cried himself to sleep on Thursday. I bet someone is going to be glancing at the scoreboard tonight.
