This week. Similar Topic. Different approach.
Wake Forest couldn’t handle running back Josh Adams on the ground. The freshman had 141 yards on the ground for 17 carries. 98 of those yards came off of one run all the way in for the touchdown. Not only was this Adams’s personal record, but also an ND record for the longest rushing touchdown.
Watch closely.

One more time...
Did you just see what I saw? Josh Adams escaped one tackler and thent ook a nasty stiff arm to the face. And did I mention that he's a freshman? Someone should probably ask that guy if he's okay. It looks like he suffered from a case of whiplash and embarrassment.
Brian Kelly has said time and time again that Adams is a one move kid and then a north and south runner. The running back filling in for an injured C.J. Prosise has sure proved that.
This season, Adams started out as a third string running back, and now has the starting job. Tarean Folston and Prosise were the two power running backs that were going to get the job done on the ground this season, but with an early season ending injury for Folston, Adams had to be ready.
Prosise has rushed for 975 yards this season on 148 attempts. He is averaging 6.6 yards per carry. In this game against Wake Forest, Prosise was still recovering from a head injury from the previous game.
Going back to that monstrous run…
The Irish were deep in their own territory after the defense came up big on a 4th and goal play. Kizer kept the ball on 1st and 10 and powered through the line for about two yards. Then, on the next play, touchdown, Adams. Wait, did I mention he's a freshman?
Adams takes advantage of the designed hole created by the o- line and sneaks on by, untouched, then sheds a tackler off of his jersey, sticks his hand right in the other defender’s face and sprints down the sidelines. His feet never get too grounded, no fancy moves, and hard, fast running for the TD.
We expect that next week too, Adams. We will see what you can bring to the Boston College game. Watch out defense, ND has a train and it's headed right for you.
