Going through sorority recruitment is stressful. It's going to seem like an endless week, but it's all worth it when you run to your new home. Being in a sorority has taught me so much and given me forever friendships.
I found my home.
When I rushed freshman year, I never imagined I would love my sorority just as much my senior year as I did my freshman year. When I walk into my house, I feel so welcomed and loved.
I found my life long friends.
They say you find your bridesmaids in college and I definitely agree. You're with your sorority sisters all the time and your build friendships during philanthropy events, formals, and during recruitment work week.
I found a support system.
Having a community of girls building you up all the time is so important. There's always someone to study with or someone to tell you how to study for the Intermediate Accounting test. There is always someone to cry with you on your worst days and someone to laugh with you on your best.
I found that sororities are hard work but are so rewarding.
Because my sorority's philanthropy is Make-A-Wish, I realized how much I love those kids and how blessed I really am. It's amazing to be part of something so much bigger. It's incredible to say, "My Ole Miss Chi Omega chapter raised over $80,000 for Make-A-Wish in 2016." Sororities do so much for philanthropies and I love that each one is so different.
I found what it means to be a sister.
Each sorority is so different and there are so many personalities in each. Being involved within yours is so much fun because that is honestly when you make your best friends.
Even if you don't end up at the house you wanted on Bid Day, you can absolutely still find your home wherever you are.
