In a world full of hurt, disappointment, anger, anxiety, depression, sickness, and toxicity among many other things there is one thing that remains, and that is Jesus.
Jesus is love. Jesus is hope. Jesus is and will always be a best friend in time of need.
In a world full of imperfections and negativity, He remains full of grace. In times you may struggle with the understanding of why a friendship or a relationship has to end or is full of negativity, Jesus is waiting for you. He is there ready to talk and comfort your hurting heart.
Jesus can turn any broken or hurting heart into one full of His joy as long as you seek Him.
Jesus is constant.
In times where my anxiety is full force steadily bringing up the memories of things that I cannot change and actions I have made that cannot be taken back, I find myself in a place of darkness and sadness.
I find that the moment I choose to reflect on Jesus and His goodness I feel free and released from the enemy's hold. I know that I am not the only one who suffers through this, but I know that for anyone who finds themselves in these moments feel like you are at that exact time.
Jesus doesn't want us to feel trapped by the lies or things from our past that the enemy throws our way. The enemy is always looking for an opportunity after opportunity to tear us down. He wants us to hurt, to feel unworthy, and to feel as far away from seeking Christ in those situations as possible.
But Jesus.
Jesus never leaves us. Jesus never forsakes us. He is the ultimate best friend.
When we feel separated from Jesus it's important to ask ourselves where we are at spiritually. Are we actively seeking Christ? Are we surrounded by those who encourage us rather than discouraging us? Are we allowing our mistakes to be a chain in holding us down?
Jesus is always waiting for us to run to Him with His arms wide open. Jesus, and the power of His name alone, can break every chain that is holding you back and trapping you.
I believe wholeheartedly, that He sends others into our lives to help encourage us and who will help us to grow closer to Him. These people will be some of the most amazing people in our lives. Ones who will want to grow in Christ with you and will pray with and for you are the ones who will end up being some of the best friends.
Don't forget that they're human also, and that they're imperfect. Mistakes will happen. You will make mistakes yourself. You very well may get your feelings hurt and may hurt the feelings of others. But let us not forget that the only perfect one who will never disappoint or fail you is Christ.
He loved you so much that He died for you, for me, and for everyone. That is so incredibly powerful.
He wants you. Not just a part of you, but all of you.
When I reflect on Him I cannot explain the feeling of being free that I begin to feel and the joy deep in my heart.
I pray today for you and for myself that I will always seek Him in moments of despair. I pray that He breaks every single chain that is holding both you and me back from fulfilling the plans that Christ has for us.
I pray that for every mistake that you have made and every broken friendship that you do not hold it against yourself and that you allow Him to break that stronghold and free your life from those mistakes.
You are not the mistakes of your life. You are not your future mistakes. You are a human who is so loved and precious.
Allow Him to bring the right people into your lives and to give you the strength the keep the doors that He closed for a reason shut.
Jesus, I thank you for being my best friend.
