Growing up, I hated living in New Jersey.
As a matter of fact, I could not wait to get out of there! I was so tired of seeing the same old faces and doing the same old thing every weekend. I wanted more! I wanted to go see the world and meet the new faces in it! It wasn't until after I moved to the south that I realized just how cultured New Jersey truly is. We had Jersey Shore, you don't get more cultured than that!
Here are just a few of the things that I miss the most from Jersey.
1. WAWA
Wawa was God's gift to America. He decided the country needed a place where people of all backgrounds could come together and enjoy each other's company, all while eating a Wawa hoagie. Sure there's Wawa's in Florida but they don't compare to the homeland filled with Wawa's. They don't even have Wawa's Double Dutch Chocolate Milk! It's absolute chaos!
2. Jim's Lunch
If you are from South Jersey, more specifically the Cumberland County area, then you know this is where you find the world's best burger. Just load that burger up with the "secret sauce" and your insides are about to be jumping with joy.
3. The Boardwalk
NOTHING compares to the boardwalk at the Jersey Shore. That's where the night life really happens in Jersey. You've got boardwalk pizza, tee shirt shops, Khor Brothers Ice Cream, etc.
4. Philly Cheesesteak
You know, a lot of places claim they have original "Philly Cheesesteaks" but there's no originals down in the south. You want the real deal and let me tell you, it's back in Philly.
5. Pizza
Sorry Florida, but your pizza sucks. There's nothing like a good New York Style or boardwalk pizza to binge eat. You could get a nice, thinly sliced pizza or if you're like me, a nice, thick, flaky pizza.
6. Pork Roll
That's right, you read that correctly. Pork Roll. Not Taylor Ham. It's Pork Roll and it belongs on some of the best breakfast sandwiches you will ever have. The best breakfast sandwiches you can get around here are from Dunkin Donuts and let's be honest, they're not THAT great.
