James Comey Is An American Hero

Comey's testimony is exactly what America needed

James Comey, the former FBI Director, gave his testimony to the Senate Select Committee on intelligence in regards to Trump and the Russia investigation on Thursday.

Ever since Comey announced he would openly testify after being fired by Trump on May 9, I have waited in anticipation for this day to come. Comey is essentially confirming what a majority of us know to be true: Russia interfered with the 2016 presidential election and Trump was fully cognizant of the interference.

According to Buzzfeed, Comey's biggest line from the testimony was, "I was fired because of the Russia investigation ... to change the way the Russia investigation was being conducted. That is a very big deal."

Yes, yes it is a very big deal. If Trump wasn't guilty of allowing Russia to interfere with the election because of his own selfish and power-hungry agenda, he wouldn't have fired Comey.

If I had the opportunity to thank Mr. Comey in person, I would. He is an American hero for openly testifying on this serious matter. As the news of Trump's irrational decision making and instability takes up the headlines, the more grim America's future looks. Trump is a ticking time bomb who will figuratively blow this country into pieces if he is not stopped as soon as possible.

With Trump and his administration in the White House, we are the laughing stock of the world. Our allies are ceasing to trust us or work with us. How that settles well with any American citizen, I will never know.

I am grateful Comey documented his meetings with Trump. While listening to NPR on the way home from work, I heard a snippet of the testimony that grabbed my attention: Comey said he had a bad feeling about the entire situation and needed to document what was said between him and Trump.

Comey knew Trump would lie about why he (Comey) was fired and would do everything in his power to smear him. Trump is the type of person who will throw anyone else under the bus to avoid looking bad or blame anyone else for his own wrongdoing. He is not a good president, he is not worthy of the "president" title.

In the coming days, we can hope Comey's testimony will set the process of impeachment in motion. I am hopeful that the Trump Administration will also be fired. I suspect Vice President Mike Pence, Speaker of the House Paul Ryan and the entirety of his administration were aware of Russia's interference.

I am now waiting in anticipation for alleged tapes of secret conversations between Comey and Trump to be released; if there are any.

Comey's testimony will hopefully begin the process of saving the country that Trump is failing because he knows he is not qualified to be president and he knows he did not fairly win the election because Russia paved the way for his "victory".

Thursday, June 8, 2017 was an important day and always will be in American history. James Comey, thank you for coming forward to and testifying.

Please help save us from this madness.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
