I've Never Had A Valentine And I Am Not Freaking Out

I've Never Had A Valentine And I Am Not Freaking Out
Unknown

Ah, Valentine's day is right around the corner, and you know what that means right? Gushy, googly-eyed couples are walking around holding hands giving chocolates and balloons to each other. Gross, I know. Most people would say that Valentine's day is another day that makes them feel lonely or reminds them ten times more why they are still single. However, let me tell you, I have been single my entire life, yep no boyfriend like ever. Sad, I know, but being single has its perks, but also I get that feeling of being lonely all the time. Totally normal to feel that way, however, I have never had a Valentine, and I am not freaking out. I am totally okay with being by myself and treating myself to that chocolate at Target that goes on sale the day after.

We all know what happens in school when valentines day comes around. We all get to make those cute paper bags and decorate them with pink hearts and red glitter. Then you were expected to make like 30 valentine cards for each person in your class. Don't even think about lying to yourself and saying you picked out a "special" card just for your crush, we all did it. This is going to sound sorrowful, but I was that kid in class who went home with an empty paper bag because nobody gave me Valentine cards. Yes, of course, I would be sad when I went home with no candy or little trinkets. However, it made me mature into who I am today; I do not need to rely on useless pieces of cardboard with cute little puppies on it and a sticker.

I think if you love them Valentine's day should not be an excuse to love that person extra on that day specifically. To be quite honest, you should love your significant other every dang day of the year. I feel like "love" is tossed around a lot in our generation and we do not really understand what love is. I mean I should not be speaking about it either because I have never been in love or a relationship before but still. Love is a sensitive thing, and if you are going to say it to someone, you HAVE to mean it. Friends and best friends have told me that they love me, and honestly, do they love me? No probably not because I do not have many of those best friends or friends around anymore. If you love someone, they should probably stay around in your life and not leave you behind.

What I am trying to say is, TREAT YO SELF! Go out with some friends for valentines day. Go out to eat at your favorite place with your best buddies. Get your nails done! Stay inside watch a few movies! Netflix and eat chocolate that was 75% off at Target! Eat that ice cream today can be your cheat day! To be honest Valentine's day is a Tuesday which means I have class, so I will probably be treating it like a typical day swamped with homework and working. Happy Valentines!!!!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
