I Will Rock Around The Christmas Tree Whenever I Want, Thank You

Don't hate me for having spirit.

I am entirely the type of person who had "Jingle Bell Rock" blasting on November 1st. Honestly, I was watching "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" at midnight on Halloween night. I've always loved Christmas, in fact I'm probably in the holiday spirit 12 months of the year. I love everything about cliche Hallmark movies, hot chocolate, and warm socks decorated with snowmen. So when I hear people complaining about how annoying it is for people to get a jump on celebrating the season, I can't help but wonder: who raised you??

Our country is in such a state of chaos and pandemonium, especially in this current year. So how can you blame people for wanting to focus on something a little more cheerful and uplifting than the terror we are faced to watch on the news each morning? I promise, no one is skipping Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is just as celebrated as it always has been, it just doesn't accompany the same type of joy and spirit that Christmas does.

A lot of people are overwhelmed by stress in the months following August and leading up to November. Especially students, having the increasing stress of midterms and finals, it's nice to have something to look forward to that doesn't require MLA format or a word count.

Also, I don't see who's being hurt by other people choosing to listen to holiday music or decorate early. Me watching "Home Alone" doesn't inherently cancel Thanksgiving for the entire country, I just enjoy watching movies where kids scam the antagonist, who can blame me?

As for the holiday music, I can honestly say that I have "All I Want For Christmas Is You" saved on my phone all year round, and I rarely skip over it. What is the point of complaining about the type of music people listen to when you're not being forced to listen to it? Why is it okay to blast "Summer" by Maroon 5 in October but when I play "I'll Be Home For Christmas" in November everyone gets mad?

All in all, let's just acknowledge that every holiday exists, as they always have, although we have the right to celebrate and recognize them whenever we please. If you want to drink hot chocolate and watch Hallmark's "Christmas in July" marathon, I'm not here to judge you; in fact, make me a cup and can we watch one of the movies with DJ from Full House?

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
