It's okay to not have your entire life planned out at 18, 19, or 20 years old. It's okay to be unsure of what your tomorrow is going to look like. It's okay to not know who you're going to marry or where you're going this summer or even what you're going to eat for dinner tonight. It's okay. You're young and this time, believe it or not, is an important part of your life.
If you're anything like me, or any normal person, you have your life planned out when you get to college. But when you get to college, you find out that you might not want to do what you originally planned, or something comes up and you can't. That's okay, things change, people change their ideas every day. We need to realize that these years that we have in college are meant for unsureness and some instability. This is a time in our lives where we learn new things, discover what we love, meet new people, go on adventures, make some mistakes, learn from those mistakes, and also discover who we are. These years that we are in college will go by so quickly, it is important for us to make the most of them rather than sit and dwell on our future or something that we can't change.
You need to go make the most of these years while you can. Go on spontaneous road trips with your friends. Eat that piece of cake that you want so badly. Apply to jobs that make you happy, not ones that will make you miserable. Talk to guys because they're interesting, not because you're looking for a boyfriend. Join a club or an organization who share the same passions as you. Go to a concert or a music festival, and discover new music. Don't care what people think about you.
You only have a little bit of time. Once these moments are here, they are gone and then you're thrown into the actual real world with bigger responsibilities than you already have. Don't rush anything. Enjoy this time of you not knowing what you want to do, you will figure it out. You will find your passion while you are enjoying yourself through these years. It's okay that you don't have your life together right now. Focus on today and everything will be okay.
