It's OK To Be The 2 A.M. Girl

Last week, I stumbled upon an Odyssey article titled "To The Girl Who Hooks Up With Everyone" and I found it to be rather judgmental.

The author insinuated that if a girl hooks up with many guys, she doesn't respect herself. I believe that is incorrect. A girl can hook up with as many guys or girls as she wants and still respect herself. The number of sexual partners a person has does not define or determine their self-worth.

A line in the article stated, "Why give yourself a name that you don't deserve to have?" That sentence perpetuates name-calling and judgment. I found that line and the entire article to be another way of slut shaming girls for having sex with whoever they want and as many people as they want. It's not OK that we judge and shame women for hooking up with as many people as they want, yet we characterize guys as "studs" or "heroes" for hooking up with as many people as he wants.

I used to have the false belief that if a girl slept with "X" number of guys, she would feel bad about herself and feel less self-worth. As I've matured, opened my eye and increased my knowledge, I have personally discovered that is simply not true.

The author also writes, "Nothing is sexier than going home alone." No, I disagree. Nothing is sexier than doing what you feel is right for yourself, whether that be having as many sexual partners as you desire or saving yourself for marriage. That is your choice and nobody has the right to tell you what is wrong and what is right.

If a girl chooses to be the 2 a.m. girl, she has every right to do so without feeling shameful or judged. She is making her own choices about her own body. As long as the sex is consensual and safe, then that's all that matters.

Also, if the person you're seeing judges you based on the number of sexual partners you've had, then that person isn't worth your time and doesn't deserve you.

Let's all stop judging others for their choices and allow them to be happy without shaming them for the decisions they make about their own life.

Always do what makes you happy and don't let other people make you feel bad about what you choose to do with your body.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
