Anyone who knows me well knows I love Marvel, especially X-men. I grew up watching X-men cartoons and playing with X-men action figures. It was something I grew up influenced by, I watched it with my older brother and older cousins. To me, the X-men were the best and they could do no wrong. I always loved the X-men cartoons, and the '90s cartoon "X-men the Animated Series" was my absolute favorite. I also loved "X-men Evolution" in the early '00s. But after the '90s "X-men" cartoon, my favorite was "Wolverine and the X-men" which was on in 2009. I loved the artwork, the characters, and the way everything was put together. I was so disappointed when the show ended, even though I heard there was supposed to be another season. But it never happened and it was horrible knowing that the show was over, because to be it had the potential to be as long-lasting and successful as the cartoon I grew up with in the '90s.
The reason I feel like this is because it went along better with the way "X-men" comics. I had always hoped maybe that maybe Marvel would bring it back, because that would have been truly amazing for me and all the "X-men" fans out there. What really inspired this article was honestly that there are so many TV show revivals happening. I recently heard that "Young Justice" another, show that comes from "DC" comics, is coming back on Netflix after not being on TV for a while, so it got me thinking: why can't the same thing happen for "Wolverine and the X-men"? There are a lot of us "X-men" fans out there who want another "X-men" cartoon out there to watch.
Reruns are great, but it doesn't compare to an actual show with new episodes every week. Also, another thing is the show ended on a cliffhanger! We never really got to know what happened. The last episodes were awesome; we got to see Jean Grey (who is one of my favorites) come back and be the Phoenix and we saw the X-men save the world. However, some things never got answered: like what happened to "Emma Frost"? The last episode shows her save the world by stopping the Phoenix, but in the episode her "Diamond" power breaks and she breaks into so many pieces and we never what happened to her. Is she actually dead or was she going to come back? The cliffhanger ending showed, the X-men save the world and then Professor Xavier, the founder and leader of the X-men, tells them that things are even worse. Even though they saved the world, bad things have still happened.
The coolest thing is shown which is this idea of the super villain apocalypse being in control of the future. How did he get in control? I would love to see who his Horseman are on the show. There were so many cool possibilities if the show went forward. But I feel like nowadays, it's possible for shows to come back because we as people have a voice and can use it. This is one of the reasons why I love having this platform; my voice may be small and insignificant, but it doesn't matter--I still have a voice and I'm going to use it. I feel like if "Gilmore Girls", "Full House" and "Young Justice" can come back, then that gives me hope that maybe we can get "Wolverine and the X-men" back.
It's great that Hulu, Amazon, and Netflix have their own amazing content so it would make sense for one of them to bring "Wolverine and the X-men" back. It would be so amazing if the show can get life again and all that potential the show had can finally be used. Maybe we can get those answers and the show can come back? I really hope the show can get a new life and like all those revivals can make me and so many other fans happy.
Please Marvel, we need "Wolverine and the X-men" back. Don't let all this amazing potential go to waste! People will definitely watch because Marvel has such a big fanbase and so does the X-men films. When the show came out, it was amazing because it was so fresh and well-done.
To all my fellow X-men fans out there: we can use our voices, even though it has been seven years. We have a voice and can use it! "Wolverine and the X-men" can have a new life and entertain people and make so many fans happy. There can also be like an accompanying action figure line and clothing and merchandise. This really could work! There are so many amazing characters we could see and there is so much life and opportunity and potential there. We need "Wolverine and the X-men" back in our lives.
