Is this ugly...or gorgeously delicious?

Apparently, growing spreads like this for yourself is silly, foolish, and...

ugly?

AND ILLEGAL??

That's what a judge just ruled because apparently, veggie gardens are, get this, UGLY.

Um, okay..., because that's kind of incredibly beautiful.

My garden isn't half bad either, really.

So seriously...The problem that this judge, that everyone who has a problem that everyone is shouting about is not the garden itself, per se, but with this type of garden's locale. Mainly, this garden, just like mine is front and center, encompassing the entirety of the homeowner's front yard.

Now traditionally, a veggie garden would be situated in a nice, sunny spot in one's side yard or back yard, right? But why waste all that perfectly sunny real estate? Why put all kinds of effort, time, and money into, what, grass? Shrubs? Are you gonna eat those? Ornamental pebbles and whatnot? Gnomes? Questionable lawn ornaments? Why?

Why not do front yard, back, side, where ever you can to maximize your lawn?

Don't you want to grow what you eat and eat what you grow?

Just some food for thought.

My own city tried to do this to me when I created my FRONT YARD garden because, apparently, sustainability is for suckers and beautiful gardens are a real eyesore. Luckily, I don't live where there's an HOA. These people didn't get so lucky and had to destroy all their hard work and thriving veggie plants.

That's actually why I started this blog more than two years ago! To learn about sustainability, live it and document it, remember?

By the second blog post in, I was a Troublemaker!

It's evolved into a documentation of MY LIFE: My Garden, yes, My Eating Disorder, My Mental Health, Health(ier) Eating, My Relationships, Running, and anything else I feel like pontificating on about.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
