Okay horror movie lovers it’s time to talk about the “It” remake. If you are still unsure about spending your money on this new release maybe my review will help you decide. It’s okay if you haven’t seen the 1990s miniseries of “It” or read the book, you will still be able to follow along with the storyline.
The new movie will haunt you night and day. The eerie memories of the graphic scenes will be on your mind for quite a while. When you go to sleep the image of that chilling clown will be a vivid sight behind your eyelids. I have heard many people say they did not plan on seeing the movie now or ever but I would still say it’s worth the two hours and fifteen minutes even if it frightens you for some time after you leave the theatre.
I’m all for seeing the newest horror films but I understand if that genre of movies isn’t your favorite. The 2017 “It” captures more of a childhood type of fear rather than adult fears. Although some have reviewed the movie as being more laughable than horrifying I would say it’s a perfect combination of both. A few movie critics have claimed that the parts which were supposed to scare you were so comical that it wasn’t scary in any way. In my opinion director, Andy Muschietti accomplished the perfect mix of comedy from the conversations between the children in the movie and terror from the dreadful clown played by Bill Skarsgard.
Perhaps I’m a sucker for any movie set in the 1980s but this one certainly stole a spot on my favorites list. The casting and acting in this movie far exceeded my expectations. It was thrilling, suspenseful, amusing, and left you ready for chapter 2. Overall if I were asked if it was worth it to see “It” I would certainly reply “YES”.
