If I could make a change in this world, it would be to eliminate poverty in various countries and to elaborately increase the magnanimous act of altruism.

Poverty is something that has always created a huge stir in my heart because it would always invigorate me to imagine what it is like to be in the shoes of the underprivileged and how we often takes things for granted. The struggle to survive has always been the most prevalent aspect when it comes to understanding the true meaning of poverty.

The world would be much more pleasant if it was not severely dominated by the pecuniary struggles that reside with the “Common Man.” To potentially alleviate such poverty enriched environments, altruistic acts form the overall backbone behind shielding people from this bitter aspect of the world that we live in.

Acts of altruism is something that I strongly believe should be further strengthened and implemented more often. After all, some words of kindness and acts of humility does not prove to be detrimental in any way. The desire to support and help others should be something that comes directly from the heart and there shouldn’t be any form of apprehensions while getting involved in such a benevolent act.

In my opinion, most people are less concerned with the possible rewards that may arise due to their altruistic act and perform it solely for the sake of the well-being of others. Sometimes, examining the world using somebody else’s perspective enables us to visualize the world using another lens. This causes us to experience several types of emotional bonds with the victimized and in return get exposed to the various wonders of the world. The more connections we form, the more tangled we find ourselves getting immersed in the lives of others.

Nothing gets transformed or lost unless the people in society decide to not touch base upon it. Similarly, altruism has not been lost yet because there are still people who have selflessly dedicated almost their entire life towards the empowerment of the underprivileged.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
