Summer is upon us, and for a lot of people, that means parties, date nights, bonfires, and all sorts of adventures. My summer? Not so much. As an introvert, I've never been the type to go out and do much. My idea of a great time is staying in with my mom or a few friends watching movies. So, if you're introverted like me, this is probably how you've spent your summer.
1. You've spent all summer with the same three people
Other than my coworkers, I've seen about three people more than once since graduation.
2. "Sorry, I have work" has been your excuse all summer to never go out
I have spent most of my summer working, and the few days I have off I'm sure as heck not going to go out. You'll have to pry my lazy days out of my cold dead hands. Why would I go out after 8 p.m. if I know I'm going to have to go to work all day the next morning?
3. You spend more time in your hammock than with real people

Like I said before, on my few days off, you can probably catch me chilling in a hammock if the weather's nice.
4. You spend the majority of the time you're not working in bed
Should I take this many naps? No. Is that going to stop me? Of course not.
5. You've done a lot of reading

This summer I've read a lot more ebooks than physical books, but I have a stack to read before move in...
6. Aaaand you've binged a lot of shows
Many an evening has been spent watching movies or Parks and Rec because let's face it, Parks and Rec is the best show ever.
7. When you do go out, it takes you a few days to recover
Kings Island AND a movie in the same week? I'm gonna need about 48 hours of no contact with anyone besides my mom, thank you very much.
8. You've developed a considerable caffeine addiction
If you've seen me in public, it's definitely because I've drank my coffee and ate my Wheaties to prepare for all the social interactions.
9. You spend a considerable amount of time with your parents
On the rare occasions I do leave my lair *ahem* I mean bedroom, you can probably find me chilling on the couch watching TV with my mom because let's face it, moms are the best.
10. You realize there's less than a month until school starts, and you haven't really done much
Other than going on vacation for a week, I haven't done much besides work. Honestly, it didn't really hit me how much of a hermit I've been until I started writing this article.
11. You wouldn't want it any other way

I may not have spent my summer partying, or going on elaborate outings but that's not me. I would rather spend a weekend staying in and watching Netflix while eating junk food than going to a wild party or going out every other night. Let's be real - I don't have to money for that either. I've spent this summer in, but it's made me realize that I don't need to be social all the time to enjoy my summer.
