Learn About Me Through My 6 Different Instagram Accounts

Some call it excessive, I call it a form of expression.

Learn About Me Through My 6 Different Instagram Accounts
Lauryn Smith

Over the past few years, I have found myself an avid Instagram user. From starting my personal Instagram back in fifth grade to gaining way too many followers on my "Dance Moms" fan page in seventh grade, creating a joint "foodstagram" account with friends freshman year of high school, to my most recent attempt at a lifestyle Instagram, I have pretty much covered it all. As much as I take caution when it comes to social media use, I also find so many advantages to it, and creating accounts that serve specific purposes is the best way for me to express myself and keep myself accountable and interested in whatever I'm doing.

Some people may say that the fact that I have six different Instagram accounts is crazy, a waste of time, or just don't understand where one could find the time to do it. But for me, not only do I not mind keeping up with it, but I actually enjoy it and get a lot out of the process. There are so many influencers out there that I look up to, and if I can do the same for someone else, then that means more to me than all the work that I put in.

Here is a little glimpse into who I am and what I'm passionate about through my Instagram accounts:

This one is a no brainer. As I wrote about in a previous article, I run Lauryn Taylor Designs, where I make custom designed accessories for colleges and camps. One of the most important parts about my business is marketing to clients, and social media is probably the best outlet to do so. I try my best to be active and post often in order to stay engaged with my followers and market my products as best as I can. Running my business has taught me a lot of things and has also been a great way to hone in on my artistic skills, management, and organization.

This is my most recent endeavor into Instagram, so many of you probably won't know that this account exists. After recent success this summer on WW (Weight Watchers), I originally created this account strictly to find recipes and tips. However, my mom finally told me to stop worrying about what people think and share my success and post. And now that I have, I LOVE it. My account is mainly to share my food ideas and knowledge that I have learned while on the program, proving to everyone that it is possible to live a healthy lifestyle as a college student. I am looking forward to continuing to share both my successes and navigate through this journey as I move back to school.

Here's my alter ego to @laurynslifestyle. I started this account freshman year and have shared all of the delicious things I have been eating since. Many co-owners have come and gone, but now I am solo and chowing down on my own. Though I have luckily changed my eating habits over the years, I still get my Lou Malnati's and ice cream fixes in and happily document them here.

As I have written about before, bullet journaling has been the number one way for me to stay organized, stay artistic, and stay accountable for my actions. I created this account when I first started journaling about a year and a half ago, where I would post all of my spreads and shared my organizational creativity. Unfortunately, this account is now lacking and I haven't posted in about a year now ( I'm not even logged in as you can see from the photo), but that doesn't mean that I've stopped journaling.

And welcome to the OG account. My personal account is probably the best way for you to see the people and places that mean the most to me...and also the pictures that I look the best in.

Now hopefully you've learned a little bit more about me, and the things I love most. Thanks for stepping into a day in the life of ~influencer~ Lauryn Smith, the girl with six Instagrams, because seven would just be crazy.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
