How To Get My Filter

Instagram is my go to when choosing a social media platform and where I spend most of my time while on my phone. You can find anything from famous people to accounts on housing decor, I follow both types of pages and everything in between.

When following these pages and people I unconsciously and sometimes, consciously chose to follow one over another because of their pictures and or filters. I find it satisfying when the whole page is in the same or coordinating filters.

I personally have adapted my own instagram page to be as pleasing as the big name company I saw on the featured page. And with this design, I grab a lot of people's attention. I've gotten multiple messages about how I achieved the look of my pictures.

And while I do more than just add a filter or change a few things on my pictures, such as using preferred lighting and poses, my filters and alterations are superior to everything.

How I create this look:

I used the app "VSCO" to edit and add to my photos.

I first choose my favorite picture from the serval that were taken.

I start by cropping out any unneeded areas and make the people centered.

Next, I go to "Split Tone" and add a red tint to the shadows and the highlights.

And finally I add grain to the picture to give it an older look, also great for covering up small facial flaws like acne or freckles.

Thats it, the very simple and quick way to get great pictures similar the ones I have recently been creating.

While we shouldn't rely on filters to make us pretty or give us a feeling of validation, there is nothing wrong with adding some color and alterations to a photo to make it more appealing to the eye in large groups. I hope you found these tips useful and create your own warm themed insta!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
