The end of the semester is in sight, so close yet so far away. Tests and projects are at an all-time high, our motivation is at an all-time low, and students are coming out of the woodwork left and right to take my unassigned assigned seats in both my classes and regular coffee shops. Summer is near and we all want our precious freedom.

In all seriousness, we all could use a hug right now. A little push of motivation, a care package from mom, a happy letter from a sweet roommate, or perhaps just a pint of ice cream. If I could give each and every one of you these very things I would, however, I simply can't. But I can give you tender words from a dozen different people who would unanimously believe in you, including me!

Stick these blissful quotes on your fridge, in your planner, on your mirror, and in your car, and know they are sincere truth yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

1. “In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer. And that makes me happy. For it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me, within me, there's something stronger- something better, pushing right back." - Isabel Allende

3. “A time can be more readily endured if we retain the conviction that our existence holds a purpose - a cause to pursue, a person to love, a goal to achieve." - John C. Maxwell

8. “Hope smiles from the threshold of the year to come, whispering 'it will be happier'..." - Alfred Tennyson

9. “I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain." - Frank Herbert

10. “Enjoy it. Because it's happening." - Stephen Chbosky

11. “To see the world, things dangerous to come to, to see behind walls, draw closer, to find each other, and feel - that is the purpose of life." - The Secret Life of Walter Mitty

12. “The man who moves a mountain begins by carrying away small stones." - Confucius

13. “A person does not grow from the ground like a vine or a tree, one is not part of a plot of land. Mankind has legs so it can wander." - Roman Payne

14. “Believe in your infinite potential. Your only limitations are those you set upon yourself." - Roy T. Bennett

15. “Do not stop thinking of life as an adventure. You have no security unless you can live bravely, excitingly, imaginatively; unless you can choose a challenge instead of competence." - Eleanor Roosevelt

16. “Do the best you can until you know better. Then, when you know better, do better." - Maya Angelou

17. “You must learn to let go. Release the stress. You were never in control anyway." - Steve Maraboli

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
