So you made it through Spring Break. Summer is actually starting to become visible on the horizon. Unfortunately, that horizon is blocked by piles and mountains of tests, responsibilities, and decisions that consume and control the last months of school. I don't know what you're struggling with right now, but I would guess you probably feel a little overwhelmed and lost. No matter what you need right now, whether it be hope, love, direction, comfort, forgiveness, or even just a little motivation to get through the day, it is my hope and prayer that at least one of these verses would be whatever you need right now.
1. Matthew 11:28
"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
2. Romans 5:8
“but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
3. Isaiah 55:8-9
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
4. Galatians 6:9
“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”
5. Acts 17:24-28
(I know this one’s long but it’s so. Stinkin’. Good.)
“The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man, nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since He himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything. And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way towards him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each of us, for ‘in him we live and move and have our being.’”
6. Isaiah 30:18
“Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him.”
7. Hebrews 4:14-15
“For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted just as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
8. Romans 8:39
“...nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
9. Jeremiah 31:13
“Then shall the young women rejoice in the dance, and the young men and the old shall be merry. I will turn their mourning into joy; I will comfort them, and give them gladness for sorrow.”
10. Ephesians 2:10
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”
11. Hebrews 12:1
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.”
12. Matthew 17:20
“For truly I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”
13. Psalm 138:8a
“The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever.”
14. Hebrews 13:8
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”
