There are two types of people you find at every university-the ones who decide to skip out on seeing their family for the summer, and those who run away from campus as soon as they get the chance. I am the latter. I enjoy driving home after finals, and sitting on my childhood couch with The Office on the tv, and my dog in my lap. I love driving through familiar streets and reminiscing on the simple times when the stress of deadlines, and ridiculous assignments did not make me want to throw myself off a campus building. You know the feeling...
Being home is great, it is a well-deserved rest from everything you have just endured in the previous months, but, all great things have their downfalls. I'm pale because unfortunately, campus libraries are not equipped with tanning beds, and if they were, I wouldn't have had time to go tan anyway, given Principles of Microeconomics and Calc wasn't going to memorize itself.
2. "Do You Have A Boyfriend Yet?"
As a matter of fact, I do, and he goes by the name of Florida State University. My one true love.
3. "Oh...You're An English Major..."
That's right, neighbor that I have seen twice in my life, I am an English major. I can most certainly write you a paper about it if you'd like-MLA or APA?
4. "Still Got That 4.0 GPA I Hope."
No. I am no longer in high school, where I was able to get straight A's while constantly daydreaming about anything but school. I like to think of myself as trading in my 4.0 GPA for a plethora of ramen noodles and midnight trips to Chick-fil-A.
5. "You Are An Adult Now, And You Need To Act Like One."
What do you mean? I thought pulling all-nighters every day, and worrying about rent has already made me an adult...
