Why having a group of best friends can't be beat.

Individually Unique, Together Complete

Despite the cheesy headline and sub-headline, best friends really are the bees knees (whatever that means). Rhyme or not, having a close friend group is actually totally and completely amazing.

When I think of close friend groups, I think of Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants. Each character is so different from the best friend standing next to her, but like Carmen's character says, "they form one complete person." I think that's why more than one best friend is placed in our lives, to complete our circle, our square or our triangular weird lives.

You share inside jokes, you share (and sometimes steal) clothes and you share this thing that you are all fortunate enough to have, which is each other. It doesn't matter if all of you don't hang out at the same time or one friend can't make it to a hang out sesh, you know that the love is still there. It doesn't matter if you go to different schools or see each other as much as you'd like, as soon as you're reunited it's like nothing changed. It doesn't matter if you get in a fight because you know there's one in the group who will tell you that you're being mean and stupid and then there's another who will bring it all back together. These fights are rare and last maybe 8 minutes max.

You can't imagine life without one another, and when it does bring you a part, you constantly feel like something is missing. A couple of them are bad texters, so you obnoxiously blow up their phone like a crazy girlfriend. But really, this relationship is more intense than dating. These beautiful things are you best friends, your lovers, your do or dies, your people. These are the people you go to if you have a bad day, a good day, an average day, a back pimple -- you name it and at least one of them is there. Not to mention, there's one or more of them who can be designated to each of your moods. There's the one who will always go out with you, the one who will force you to go to the library, the friend who will hold your hair, and the friend who will tell you to change your outfit.

Without these people we would be lost -- we are lost. It's scary that they have such an impact on your life, yet you wouldn't change a single thing about your sometimes twisted relationship. You love that they don't think twice about eating an entire pizza and cheesy fries with you. You love that you can do their hair and pick out their outfits, knowing full well that they can do it themselves. You love that they will hold you and respond immediately to your text messages or randomly FaceTime you at work.

It doesn't matter how different you are or how alike you are, by some miracle you were all brought together. You were brought together to form this one complete, strange, undoubtedly badass person. And when you're all old, wrinkly and saggy, they'll still buy you drinks and tell your kids what to do because they just can.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
