In the book of Isaiah, chapter 7, it talks about this one guy named Ahaz. Ahaz was the king of Judah and one day received a message saying, "The armies of Aram and Israel have joined together." When he heard this, he became frightened because he knew his army wasn’t strong enough to defeat one like this. God sent word through His prophet Isaiah telling them to flee. God told them to not worry and to remain calm. God knew these two armies rebelled and were out to destroy Judah, but He also knew their plans would not succeed.
In verse 9, God says," If your faith is not strong, you will not have enough strength to last." Faith is the spiritual muscle in your relationship with God. We must exercise it daily in order to grow stronger in our relationship with Christ.
In order to do so, you need to study Gods word, talk to Him, pray for others, share His love with others, and live life seeking Glory for Him. The more you continue to do this every day, the stronger you will grow. Your circumstances may not become easier, but you can count on your faith being where it needs to be.
When I think about the struggles of life sometimes, I compare it all to a river. Rivers can have strong currents and sometimes it gets so hard to fight the current, you just say forget it and go with the flow. The river represents life and the current represents the world. When you set foot in the river, it is going to immediately pull you with the current. You can manage to turn around and fight it, but its difficult and takes a big amount of strength. But how can you fight it when you have no strength? When is the last time you picked up a dumbbell?
Just like in reality, the things of this world will do its best to persuade you to go one direction. Its even easier to go with the flow of what everyone else is doing. On the other hand, at the end of the terrifying current is God. You have to fight against everything the world is throwing at you. However, you cant possibly do so when you don’t have any spiritual strength. When is the last you picked up your bible and read it?We have to build our relationships up with God and He will provide us with the strength, courage, motivation we need. It sure is a rough current, but when you make it to the end it's all worth it.
Romans 8:18 says,
"What we suffer now, is nothing compared to the glory He will reveal to us later."
