In every friend group each person plays a role, whether it be the clumsy one, the dumb one, or the party animal. Everyone has a role, whether they know it or not. I am well aware of the role that I play, and I am not mad about it. Yes, I am the mom friend.

1. You are always prepared

Whenever we go anywhere, I always have everything that you will possibly need. I have a jacket in case it gets cold, water in case anyone gets thirsty, Tylenol and band aids, because accidents happen.

2. You watch out for everyone

You are always there when someone is in need or if they just need someone to talk to. You are the shoulder to cry on, the person to go to for advice.

3. You make sure everyone is safe

You want to make sure everyone gets home safe after a night out, you make sure everyone has a seatbelt on. You encourage their smart decisions and are there to make sure they do not text that player that is blowing up her phone late at night.

4. You are organized

Everything has a place, and everything is always where it should be. You make sure everything is always clean and messes drive you crazy, especially when you have people over, you are embarrassed if there is even the slightest mess. You are constantly picking up after others and making sure people use a coaster.

5. You are always on time

There is always a schedule and you are sure to stick to it. If you are early, you are on time and if you are on time, you are late. You always make sure you leave the house early enough to get to where you need to be just a tad early.

In the end you are always the go to girl for anyone that needs anything. You are always there for support and your friends always appreciate you, even though your mom habits can be a tad annoying because you are so different from the typical college student.

What role do you play in your friend group?

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
