**SPOILER ALERT**

Stranger Things – The Netflix Original series based on a book came out on Netflix in July of 2016. I recently have just begun to watch it and yes, I know I’m late, but it is one of the best shows I have seen on Netflix and I am here to tell you why I think it's so freakin' great.

It is a little “strange” at times, hence the title Stranger Things, but the show is absolutely fantastic. With it's amazing character choices, hokey, but interesting story line, and the idea that there is another world – similar to our own but with a sinister spin on what we’ve always known to be, it makes for a crazy rollercoaster of love, hate, anger, intrigue, and happiness all in one.

Opening with the disappearance of Will Byers (played by Noah Schnapp), a young boy who is taken by what the other boys call a “Demogorgon,” and brought into what is known in the show as “the upside down,” an alternate universe of our world. Not only is Will taken, but a young girl, Eleven (played by Millie Bobbie Brown), is discovered by the three friends of Will, who were looking for him but found her instead. The boys, Mike, Lucas and Dustin find Eleven and discover that she can do things – that she has telekinetic powers.

Eleven is an escaped "patient" from “Hawkins Laboratory” in the town of Hawkins where all the boys live. Hawkins Laboratory is run by the cruel Dr. Martin Brenner, who is taking children and using them as experiments for Project MKUltra which is loosely shown in Stranger Things. Mike, Lucas, and Dustin team up with Eleven in attempts to find Will, who is stuck in the upside down - the gate of which was opened accidentally by Eleven because of the things Dr. Brenner was making her do.

The first season of Stranger Things is full of new relationships between characters, friendships blossoming, hearts breaking, tears of sadness and happiness and so much more. You follow Mike in his relationship with Eleven, you follow Joyce and Johnathan (Will's mother and brother), in an attempt to find their missing Will, you follow Dustin and Lucas along with Mike and Eleven in the hopes of also getting Will back. You follow Nancy (Mike's sister) in her quest to find Barbara, her best friend who was also taken into the upside down by the Demogorgon, and sorry to spoil, but is eventually killed before she is able to be pulled out, spoiler again, like Will is eventually.

In the span of two days, I have watched all eight episodes of ST season one, and while writing this article am currently five episodes into season two. I seriously recommend this show to anyone who likes mysteries, and definitely if you like science fiction. You should go for Stranger Things as your next Netflix binge.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
