I can’t believe you’re actually leaving. For the past three years, we’ve slept under the same roof, shared the same meals, and binged watched the same shows. We have been through so many ups and downs together but it’s not over. Your friendship means more to me than anything else. You were the best roomie a girl could ask for and without you college would not have been the same. I just want to say thank you for…

1. Being the man of the house.

Thank you for changing the air filter, the light bulbs and killing all those icky bugs. Without you I probably would have set the house on fire from trying to kill a spider. You always did all the handy work and making sure the house was running smooth. Also, thank you for it being your toilet to explode in the middle of the night because I would not have known how to fix it. You’re smarter than you think you are.

2. Listening to all my dumb problems.

Thank you for letting me come sit on your desk and tell you about my day. Sometimes a girl just needs to vent about boys or that C that should have been an A on a paper. You never judged me and always tried to give me helpful advice when I needed it.

3. Late nights.

Thank you for those late-night study sessions for accounting, or the even later nights drinking wine in front of the tv. With you I always had a good time even if we we’re just sitting there on Instagram together. Only best friends can sit in silence and it not be awkward, or so they say.

4. For not only being my best friend, but my dogs best friend.

Thank you for having such a special bond with my pupper. She sure will miss you probably just as much as I will. All of the naps you guys took together, the food you shared, and lets not forget our hiking adventures will never be forgotten. You have a special place in not only my heart but pupper’s heart as well.

5. Sharing your closet.

Thank you for letting me borrow countless amounts of outfits. I mean you just moved out and I still borrowed your romper. Everyone knows that other people’s clothes are just so much better than their own.

6. For being the blonde to my brunette.

Thank you for all the crazy adventures. We are a dynamic duo and I wouldn’t have it any other way. There’s no better pair than a brunette and blonde best friend. Plus, this way, it always made it easy to figure out whose stray hair was whose!

7. For being you.

Thank you for being the best friend and roommate I could ever ask for. You are strong, smart, and beautiful and I hope that this chapter in your life was just as fulfilling as it was in mine. There’s plenty that I will miss about living with you but there is also plenty to look forward to. I can’t wait for you to get that big girl job, and I can come visit you. I can’t wait to be in each other’s weddings and have barbecues at each other’s houses.

Thank you for the smiles, the laughs, the memories. I love you and congratulations on graduation! We did it!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
