Many people say that it is hard to love someone who doesn't even love themselves. People should realize that instead of focusing on how others love them, it's much MORE important to focus on how they love themselves. No one should have negative thoughts about themselves because it doesn't make anything better. If you love yourself first, you will know what you deserve. There are many ways to love yourself and it's not too late to do so:

1. Focus on YOURSELF:

Figure out what you want to do as a career or make up some goals that you would love to accomplish. Don't focus TOO hard on what others are trying to do. Do what is best for yourself and it's okay to make yourself a priority. Is it necessary to do that? The answer is YES, so do not be ashamed of that!

2. Kiss your past goodbye, look forward to your future:

For example, Robert Downey Jr. had a devastating past. He was addicted to drugs at a very young age. Not only did it ruin some of his past relationships, but it most importantly ruined himself. One day he decided to officially become clean, now he is playing one of the most well known comic book characters of all time, Iron Man. Now if Robert can get through his past, so can YOU! We all make mistakes and no one is perfect, but it's important to learn from those mistakes and move forward. Don't let something in your past stop you from creating a future.

3. Remove toxic people from your life:

You will come across people that will put you in a bad state of mind. Next thing you know, you might hear something awful someone said behind your back. They could take advantage of you, especially if they are using your kindness for a weakness. As we grow, we learn these kinds of people and they are NOT worth your time. Stay clear of them because it will not get better.

4. Make time to relax:

Nobody likes to stress about anything and it's not healthy for your body. Take some time to read a book, go for a swim, or lay down in the sun to get a tan. It's also great to listen to music that will calm your mind. Yoga and meditation are options too! Just don't get yourself so worked up and take it easy!

5. Play your FAVORITE song and dance to it!:

One of my favorite songs that I love to dance to is BTS - CYPHER PT.4!These guys are the rapline of a K-Pop group, BTS, and I really love the part when they yell/sing "I love, I love, I love myself!" because even they agree that it's best to love yourself! What is even better is that BTS's newest album is called Love Yourself! So blast a song that you absolutely love and dance to it! It will make you feel better and it's your new;jam, right?

6. Laugh, especially at memes:

Can we just talk about how Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is holding a rock!? He is pretty much hugging himself, which makes this meme so great! Laughing is healthy and it makes you feel great! So take some time to look at things that'll make you laugh. It's even a calorie burner!

7. Think positive, not negative:

Erase all of the negatives and replace them with all the positives! Nobody likes any kind of negativity and there are many ways to think positive about yourself! Tell yourself "I can do this" instead of "I can't do this." Take the time to think about the things you like best about yourself! Also, always believe that you can do anything that you set your mind to.

8. Take care of your appearance:

As for myself, I feel 100x better whenever I clean and moisturize my hair. It's actually a stress reliever for me. By taking care of your appearance, go out and buy a new outfit for yourself or change up your hairstyle! Do something that will satisfy yourself on how you look.

9. Eat your favorite food:

Don't you feel happy whenever you eat something that you love!? I know I do! If you eat your favorite food, it will put a smile on your face! It's one of the best feelings to have and it will put you in a better mood!

10. Spend some alone time with yourself:

There is nothing wrong with having some "me time" because you are giving yourself the opportunity to build who you are as a person. Do something by yourself that you love to do, like watching your favorite Netflix series or write in a journal! It's up to you on how you want to spend some alone time!

I know many people who are single like myself, but they feel like a piece of garbage because of it. They will say things like "I'm single because I'm ugly" or "No one will ever be interested in me" but that's how they forget to love themselves. God has a plan for everyone and if you focus on loving yourself, you will get what you deserve. Only YOU can define yourself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
