Winter is coming, as Ned Stark would say. Well, it sure feels like it's here already! It's definitely cold enough in some places. However, some people suffer from seasonal depression and get affected in the winter. It's important to have lots of things to do in winter and not be stuck inside feeling miserable about not doing anything, so here are some ideas of what to do in winter!
1. Go ice skating
Yes, it if obviously cold when you go ice skating. But, if you've never been, you'd be surprised by how warm you get when you're skating around. Ice skating is a guns fm easy trick to learn, and anyone can learn the basics! Find a rink near you - outside or inside, whatever you want - and get your skates on. This could also provide some well needed exercise to warm you up and help keep fit while eating lots of Christmas food!
2. Have a lazy day
It sounds simple, and really you can have a lazy day at any time in the year but I think it works best in winter. Imagine: it's freezing cold outside, you have the fire on, you're wrapped up in blankets with your pyjamas on and you're drinking a hot drink while reading your favourite book or watching a film with your family. We all need time to relax, so plan a day where you can just have time for you at home. You could even fit in a relaxing hot bath!
3. Go to events near you
This is more tailored to where you live, but I'm sure there are events on everywhere. For example, my city has a Christmas Fair every year with rides, candyfloss and games etc. Find a local event to go to with family or friends to really get into the spirit of Christmas! If there isn't anything near you or nothing you like, you could just simply go shopping. Get out of the house with friends or family - even though it'll be cold, a fun day will be worth it.
The most important thing this winter is to stay happy! Do what's best for you and enjoy yourself.
