I’m a dog lover. I’ve had family dogs my entire life. However, I had never had my OWN dog. I got Rouge, a Chesapeake Bay Retriever, two years ago. These two years have been full of chewed up shoes, accidents in the house, and A LOT of cuddles! I know she was put in my life for a special reason because she is totally my soulmate.
Are y’all agreeing with me on this? Dogs are like completely awesome and so much fun to have!!! Like seriously, you will never be bored as long as you have a dog. So, my fur loving friends... here’s a list of things I HIGHLY recommend doing with your fur baby!
1. Going to the pet store.
I mean what better place is there? It’s like me in a candy store, but the dog version! I let my dog walk down aisles and pick out whichever bone/toy she wants. Then we go to check out and she gets a yummy treat at the check out counter from the cashier.
2. Taking your dog walking with you.
The easiest thing in the world is to throw on a leash and take her for a walk. I think this is beneficial for you and your dog because it allows both of you to get much-needed exercise! Plus, dogs make all that walking and running pass a lot faster!
3. Going to the dog park.
Most cities have dog parks (I know Baton Rouge does). Dogs need to be socialized and around other dogs often. Plus, you’ll get to play with other people’s dogs too, which I love!!! We have so much fun at the dog park.
4. Going to Starbucks.
Ordered a puppuccino and watch your dog devour it! No joke, this is probably my dog’s favorite thing to do of course.
5. Making dog-approved dog treats.
Okay so this one is a bit new for me, but I’ve been Pinteresting a ton of recipes for homemade dog treats. My dog lays and waits patiently while I try a new recipe and we see what she likes and doesn’t like. But let’s be honest, my dog will eat anything in the world.
My rule has always been if you don’t have time for a dog, don’t get a dog. I love and enjoy my pup so much, and my life would be completely boring without her. Is it possible for a dog to be your soulmate?
Yes.
Yes.
The answer is definitely yes!
